Heathrow Airport is temporarily closed due to a fire at an electrical substation nearby, which is causing significant disruption to our flights today.

If you are travelling to or from London Heathrow today, please do not proceed to your departure airport at this time.

All Virgin Atlantic flights to and from Heathrow are cancelled on 21 March. Flight Status information is being updated, so we appreciate your patience.

Check your flight status

We expect to operate a near full schedule on 22 March, with limited cancellations. However, the situation remains dynamic and we’ll keep all flights under continuous review. 

If you are departing from London Heathrow on 22 March, please do not arrive at the airport more than three hours before your flight to help reduce congestion in the terminal.

We kindly ask customers not to call our contact centre due to high call volumes at this time. If your flight is cancelled, we will email to update you.

If your flight has been affected, we’re offering flexible options to help you adjust your travel plans. You can choose to be rebooked onto the next available flight, reschedule your journey for a later date, or change your destination within our direct network.
