Following significant baggage system failures this weekend, under its conditions of use, Heathrow Airport has introduced flight capacity restrictions to all airlines in Terminals 2 & 3 on Monday 20 June, limiting the number of flights that can operate. Unfortunately, Heathrow’s mandated capacity reduction means that we have had to cancel three Virgin Atlantic flights due to operate, with the vast majority of customers rebooked onto an alternative service on the same day.

The cancelled flights on Monday 20 June are as follows:

  • Heathrow – Los Angeles flight VS7
  • Heathrow – New York (JFK) flight VS45
  • New York (JFK) – Heathrow flight VS4

Our teams are in the process of rebooking all affected customers and will advise of new flight details as soon as possible, customers will also be able to view their new flight details in ‘My booking.’ Those who no longer wish to travel have the option to rebook for a later date or receive a full refund. You can view our flight disruption policy here

Working closely with Heathrow and partners, our collective focus is on our customers, ensuring we minimise the impact to your journey. We’re also doing everything we can to return any bags that missed flights to customers as quickly as possible, loading them onto the next available flights.

We know how important these trips will be to affected customers and sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience caused.
