Get your trip off to a flying start with Virgin Atlantic at Shanghai Pu Dong International Airport. From check in details to airport facilities for departures and onward travel information for arrivals, don't stress - we've got it covered.
The best way to check in is online where you can pick your seat and print your boarding card. If you’re travelling with carry on baggage only, you can print off your own boarding pass and we’ll see you at the gate.
Leave those last-minute airport dashes to the big screen! We recommend that you arrive at least two hours before your flight is due to leave.
Counter check in and bag drop
You’ll find our check in desks F01-F12 at Check in Island F, Terminal 2. Check in starts from four hours before departure and closes one hour before departure. Our bag drop facility is located at Desk 25.
From 19 May 2023, passengers connecting from Shanghai to Auckland with Air New Zealand will not need to collect their checked bags as they will be automatically transferred to your connecting flight. All other passengers connecting to another flight from Shanghai will need to collect and re-check their baggage.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are recommended but not required both during your flight, and in the terminal at Shanghai. Health packs containing medical masks will be handed out at the gate at London Heathrow.
Shanghai Airport has a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from.
