  4. Changes to UK entry requirements

Travel requirements for the entering the UK are changing and include moving from physical immigration documents to eVisas and the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

 

  • eVisas - if you hold a UK visa and use a physical immigration document, take action now to access your eVisa here.*

  • ETA - if you do not need a visa to visit the UK for stays of up to six months, you will need an ETA to travel.

  • Eligible non-Europeans will require an ETA to travel to the UK from 8th January 2025, and can apply now.

  • Eligible Europeans will require an ETA to travel to the UK from 2nd April 2025, and can apply from 5th March 2025.

*If your BRP or EUSS BRC expires on or after 31st December 2024 and you still have permission to stay in the UK, you should continue to carry your BRP or EUSS BRC with you when you travel to the UK until 31st March 2025.
