Following the latest government, World Health Organisation, and industry regulatory guidance, you must wear a face mask or face covering at all times onboard the flight and throughout the airport.

You may only remove the face mask for the following reasons:

  • To avoid harm or injury, or the risk of harm or injury, to yourself or others
  • To eat or drink where it is reasonably necessary to do so, or to take medication

There are some exemptions that apply to the wearing of face masks or face coverings:

  • If you can't put on, wear, or remove a face covering without severe distress, or due to any physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability (within the meaning of section 6 of the Equality Act 2010)
  • If you're travelling with, or providing assistance to, another person who relies on lip reading to communicate
  • Children 11 and under unless you are travelling to/from the US*

*Customers travelling to or from the USA aged 2 and over must wear a face mask at all times in the airport and onboard the flight. The same exemptions apply.

You must download the BIMSafe app which will help to streamline your travel experience. The BIMSafe app allows you to complete forms and health questionnaires, upload test results and show proof of your vaccinations.

You’ll be given a smart bracelet which works with the app to monitor your symptoms and ensure you, and those around you, enjoy a safe stay. Once you’ve completed your quarantine period, you may remove the bracelet. Please discard it in an environmentally friendly way at the airport, or keep it as a souvenir.
