You can upgrade using money, points or bid a price you want to pay. Find out all you need to know about the different upgrades and extras on offer and how to do it.

To explore available upgrades, log into My Booking and browse the seat map. Hover or tap on your preferred seat to view pricing and pay for your upgrade online. 
 
Alternatively, you can bid for an upgrade by logging into My Booking and clicking on 'Bid for an upgrade'. We'll ask you for payment details and how much you'd be willing to pay. If your bid is successful, we'll take payment and apply the upgrade to your booking. 
 
Flying Club members can Upgrade with points. 
 
If you can't see any upgrade options available in My Booking, get in touch via web messaging or give us a call.

If you've booked Economy Classic, Economy Delight, Premium or Upper Class, click or tap on 'Choose seats' in My Booking to reserve an available seat.

You can purchase an addition 7 pieces of baggage when you Check in online or up to 10 pieces at the airport. 

 

You can only pay for oversized bags at the airport - you don’t have to do anything in advance. Just head over to one of the check in desks and a member of our airport team will be able to take your payment and show you where to take your bags.

Claim missing points from a Virgin Atlantic flight 
You can claim missing points directly in your Flying club account by clicking 'Claim missing Virgin Points'.  
You'll need your ticket number(s) to claim your missing points.

Claim missing points from a partner airline 
If you added your Flying Club number to your partner airline booking, it can take up to 6 weeks for your Virgin points to be verified and credited to your account. 
If you still haven't received the points 6 weeks after your flight, or you didn't add your Flying Club details at the time of booking, your points can be claimed for up to 6 months after your flight.

Before we can process any refunds, please read our refunds webpage which will give you all the information you need to proceed with your refund. 

Please note:

 

  • Not all tickets are fully refundable, and you could only receive your taxes back. To check your eligibility for a refund please see our refund policy and check your T&C’s before completing the form.

  • You must have booked directly with Virgin Atlantic, and not a travel agent or third-party company.

  • You’ll need your 6-digit alphanumeric booking reference starting with A to G (e.g., A3B2DE).

  • Refunds can only be made to the original form of payment.
